How to Improve the Performance of Battery Slurry

The modulation of battery slurry may seem like a simple step, but it is, in fact, a complex and crucial process. Achieving a slurry with suitable viscosity, uniform composition, and stable structure requires the accumulation of experience and careful attention to detail in the experimental process. Here are some tips to enhance the performance of the slurry:

1. Store battery materials in a dry environment. For materials prone to oxidation, vacuum storage is recommended to prevent moisture absorption or deterioration.

2. Before using electrode materials, it is advisable to dry them in an oven to eliminate any existing moisture.

3. Prior to slurry preparation, grind the materials to avoid large particle sizes. This ensures the powder is thoroughly dispersed, promoting uniformity in the slurry.

4. For different active materials, select appropriate ratios of binders, conductive agents, and solvents to prevent excessively high or low viscosity.

5. During the slurry preparation process, add solid materials in multiple stages to enhance uniformity.

6. Control the stirring time and environment, aiming to stir in a dry atmosphere. Stirring time should neither be too long, risking uneven mixing, nor too short, which might lead to slurry absorption of water or structural changes.
