CATL Secures Patent for Formation Device, Enhancing Battery Production Efficiency

According to the announcement from the China National Intellectual Property Administration, CATL has obtained a patent titled "Formation Device" with the authorization announcement number CN220358147U, and the application date is October 2023.
The patent abstract reveals that the application discloses a formation device, comprising a formation cup, an evacuation tube, and a vibration device. The formation cup is equipped with an evacuation hole, and the evacuation tube is connected to the evacuation hole. The vibration device is situated on the evacuation tube and is used to drive the evacuation tube to vibrate. In the implementation example of the formation device in this application, the vibration device is located on the evacuation tube of the formation device and is used to drive the evacuation tube to vibrate. The vibration can be transmitted to the formation cup, and through the vibration of the formation cup, the electrolyte on the cup wall can be induced to flow back, or the crystals on the cup wall can be dislodged. By vibrating the evacuation tube, the electrolyte on the tube wall can be induced to flow back, or the crystals on the tube wall can be dislodged, thereby reducing the possibility of clogging in the evacuation tube. This, in turn, can improve the formation efficiency and enhance the production efficiency of batteries.
