On January 18th, Nezha Auto's CEO, Zhang Yong, announced on his personal social media platform, "The ultra-long-life Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL) 'Spirit Battery L Series + Nezha L,' has made its debut!" This signifies the first release of CATL's long-life "Spirit" battery L Series in the Nezha L model.
Reportedly, in August 2023, CATL introduced the Spirit Ultra Fast Charge Battery, touted as the world's first phosphate iron lithium battery supporting 4C charging, providing a range of 400 kilometers with just a 10-minute charge.
Additionally, the battery incorporates temperature control technology, enabling rapid heating to the optimal operating temperature range even in low-temperature environments. It can achieve an 80% charge in just 30 minutes at -10°C.
The official statement claims that electric vehicles equipped with the Spirit Ultra Fast Charge Battery can achieve a range of 700 km, comparable to gasoline vehicles, with no performance degradation and stable acceleration even in low temperatures. According to CATL's previous plans, this battery is set to enter mass production by the end of 2023 and be on the market in the first quarter of 2024.
At the beginning of this year, it was confirmed that the Spirit Ultra Fast Charge Battery would supply GAC Aion, and versions including "Low-Temperature" and "Long-Life" would be introduced. The "Long-Life" version is expected to support an extended 8-year or 800,000 km battery warranty and is scheduled for official launch in June of this year.
Apart from this, Nezha L has already appeared in the 378th batch of the "Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturing Enterprises and Products" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). It offers both pure electric and plug-in hybrid versions and comes in various color options.
Nezha L, based on the Shanhai platform and sharing the platform with Nezha S, is positioned in the large five-seat SUV market. The vehicle's dimensions are 4770mm in length, 1900mm in width, 1660mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2810mm.
In terms of appearance, the front features a common enclosed grille for new energy vehicles, and the headlight assembly adopts a slender and irregular design. The engine hood is designed with a downward pressure style to enhance the vehicle's sporty appearance.
Regarding power, the electric version of the vehicle is equipped with a 170 kW motor from Wuxi Zhongche Times Electric Drive Technology Co., Ltd. The range-extender version is equipped with the Chongqing Xiaokang Power H15R engine with a net power of 65 kW, a displacement of 1499 ml. However, it was previously reported as the Honeycomb Energy Battery version.
In the 379th batch of the "Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturing Enterprises and Products," the Nezha L, equipped with a CATL battery, is a range-extender model with specifications consistent with the Honeycomb Energy Battery version.
